SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP (2 POSITIONS)
Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to)
In collaboration with the Social Media Strategist and Social Media Assistant, the intern will assist in the following tasks:
- Curate, create and publish engaging content for Fantasia’s social media accounts;
- Answer and moderate comments/messages on Fantasia’s social media accounts in a timely manner;
- Track, share and respond to related conversations happening on social media, as well as press and media mentions of the festival;
- Collect useful data such as audience analytics or filmmakers’ social media handles;
- Monitor and moderate chat streams during live events on Zoom, YouTube and Facebook;
- Monitor and interact with the audience in Fantasia’s designated virtual hub;
- Should the situation allow, attend in-person screenings and events to provide live coverage via Twitter or Instagram Stories.
Minimum Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency (English and French) in writing;
- In-depth working knowledge and understanding of at least 3 of the following social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube;
- Strong interest for Social Media, Content Creation and Digital Marketing;
- Strong interest for Genre Film and Cinema;
- Familiarity with the Fantasia brand and fanbase;
- Great “customer support” qualities such as patience, empathy, and conflict resolution skills;
- Video editing and/or graphic design skills are considered an asset.
Contract Dates: July 26 – August 27, full-time
Honorarium: $1000
Are you a student? Depending on your University’s requirements, this internship may qualify for course credits!
Note: The safety of our staff, audience and partners is our priority. All staff at the Fantasia International Film Festival currently work from home. During the summer, if the situation safely allows, it is possible that certain work-related events take place in person.
Applicants must have their own reliable computer and smartphone, and direct access to high-speed Internet.
