ACCREDITATION AND JURY COORDINATION (1 POSITION)

Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to)

  • Assist in keeping press and industry lists up to date;
  • Invite all relevant press and industry members to the platform and assign tickets;
  • Answer all questions related to press and industry accreditation and access;
  • Ensure all Jury members have access to the relevant materials;
  • Schedule and organize Jury deliberations;
  • Collect and share information regarding awards;

Minimum Requirements

  • Impeccable written and spoken English and French is required, as this position involves direct contact with international members of the press and industry;
  • Detail oriented with strong administrative and organizational skills;
  • Great “customer support” qualities such as patience, empathy, and conflict resolution skills;
  • Ability to adapt to a demanding work schedule, including evenings and week-ends;
  • Interest and knowledge of film, especially genre film considered an asset

Contract Dates:
June 21 - July 2, part-time (roughly 5 hours a week)
July 5 – August 27, full-time

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP (2 POSITIONS)

Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to)

In collaboration with the Social Media Strategist and Social Media Assistant, the intern will assist in the following tasks:

  • Curate, create and publish engaging content for Fantasia’s social media accounts;
  • Answer and moderate comments/messages on Fantasia’s social media accounts in a timely manner;
  • Track, share and respond to related conversations happening on social media, as well as press and media mentions of the festival;
  • Collect useful data such as audience analytics or filmmakers’ social media handles;
  • Monitor and moderate chat streams during live events on Zoom, YouTube and Facebook;
  • Monitor and interact with the audience in Fantasia’s designated virtual hub;
  • Should the situation allow, attend in-person screenings and events to provide live coverage via Twitter or Instagram Stories.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency (English and French) in writing;
  • In-depth working knowledge and understanding of at least 3 of the following social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube;
  • Strong interest for Social Media, Content Creation and Digital Marketing;
  • Strong interest for Genre Film and Cinema;
  • Familiarity with the Fantasia brand and fanbase;
  • Great “customer support” qualities such as patience, empathy, and conflict resolution skills;
  • Video editing and/or graphic design skills are considered an asset.

Contract Dates: July 26 – August 27, full-time
Honorarium: $1000

INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS INTERN (1 POSITION)

Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to)

The intern will assist the International Communications Department in the following tasks:

  • Logging international press coverage;
  • Organizing virtual press days;
  • Press Outreach;
  • Other general tasks required by the department. Note this position requires the intern to interact directly with members of the press, filmmakers/talent and film representatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Impeccable written and spoken English is a must, as this position involves direct contact with international members of the press, filmmakers/talent and film representatives;
  • Applicants should be confident of their syntax over email;
  • Detail oriented with strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to a demanding work schedule, including evenings and week-ends
  • Interest and knowledge of film, especially genre film considered an essential asset

Contract Dates: July 19 – September 3, full-time
Honorarium: $1000
