Montréal, le 25 août 2020 – Le Festival Fantasia est heureux d’annoncer que l’acteur et musicien Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) s’entretiendra avec le réalisateur et acteur canadien Jay Baruchel (Random Actos of Violence) lors d’un événement gratuit diffusé en ligne le samedi 29 août à 14h.

Finn Wolfhard a fait son entrée au cinéma grâce à la série Stranger Things, sur Netflix. Également aperçu dans It, The Goldfinch, The Turning et The Adams Family, il sera bientôt à l’affiche de Ghostbusters :Afterlife de Jason Reitman et Pinocchio de Guillermo del Toro et Mark Gustafson. En seulement quelques années, Wolfhard a su s’imposer en tant que comédien incontournable sur la scène internationale.

À seulement 17 ans, il tourne son premier film en tant que scénariste et réalisateur, le court-métrage NIGHT SHIFTS, présenté en primeur à Fantasia (24 et 31 août).Afin de célébrer son passage à la réalisation, Fantasia présentera une discussion en direct entre Finn Wolfhard et Jay Baruchel, le samedi 29 août à 14 h, accessible gratuitement et en exclusivité sur la chaîne Yotube du Festival : https://youtu.be/0Ta0ZBXHMI8Aucune inscription n’est requise.

Rappelons que cette 24^e édition a lieu en ligne. Par le biais de la plateforme FestivalScope, les festivaliers ont accès, à travers le Canada, à un programme complet de films, de panels, de discussions et d’ateliers. Le service offert est géo localisé et réservé au public canadien, permettant ainsi aux nombreux cinéphiles à travers le pays de profiter du Festival. Montreal, Monday August 24th – Fantasia is pleased to announce that the festival will host a talk between actor and musician Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Canadian actor and director Jay Baruchel (Random Acts of Violence) online and for free on Saturday August 29^th at 2PM EST.

British Columbian actor and musician Finn Wolfhard burst onto the world stage in the culture-shifting Netflix series STRANGER THINGS. With subsequent performances in the IT films, The Goldfinch, The Turningand The Adams Family, among others, and forthcoming roles in Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson’s recently announced Pinocchio, Wolfhard has solidified his standing as a major international talent.

Now, at the age of 17, he's completed his debut as a writer/director, the clever character-driven comedy short NIGHT SHIFTS, premiering in our lineup this year. To celebrate the launch of his move into storytelling, Fantasia will be presenting a live virtual artist talk with Finn Wolfhard, in conversation with none other than Canadian actor and director Jay Baruchel, on Saturday, August 29 at 2PM EST, free of charge and accessible worldwide.
