Triple-hitter talent Tipper Newton wrote, directed and stars in this engaging crime drama about a small-town mechanic sufficiently fed up with everything that she’s willing to do anything to be anywhere else. Shot on 16mm with an empathetic eye, the film captures a palpable sense of ground-down frustration while evoking a stylishly rugged early-’80s storytelling sensibility (in a good way – think AT CLOSE RANGE).
